Favorite Writing Quotes

I recently-ish started a new account on Instagram. I thought that I should have an author page, so now, in typical ADHD fashion, I have a handful of accounts. I have a personal account, a children's book account, a devotional account, and now an author account. That's excessive, you need not tell me, but here we are, doing necessary and totally unnecessary things. As is life. :) But I kind of struggle with what sort of content belongs on my author page. Do I post things that would interest other authors and writers? Or do I post things that would appeal to my target audience? Well, if the latter, that brings up about ten more questions because I am what they call, in "the biz," a genre-hopper. Posting content to appeal to three different genre readers would look messy.


So, with more questions than answers, I came across a page that shares daily prompts as part of a writer friends challenge. That sounded promising! I resolved to complete the challenge and I think I made it through the first three days on schedule.

I get so annoyed with myself sometimes! But life is busy, and I have a family and I just give myself grace when I can remember.


Anyway, I am trying to play catchup and one of the daily prompts was the share your favorite writing quote.


Last night, when I was laying in bed doing my nightly mindless scroll sesh, I saw a post that said "someone is waiting on you to do what God called you to do," and I think I let out an audible "ow!"


Because I want to do what God has called me to do, I really, really do - but I feel like God has clearly shelved several different aspects for the time being, and I'm just left kind of standing here praying and wondering and waiting to figure out what comes next. That's okay, too, and that's a good place to be. Any place is a good place to be when God is control, and I know He is, and so I'll sit right here as long as He needs, asks, instructs?


So, while that quote came to mind in terms of favorite writing quotes, although it isn't specifically a writing quote, I went out hunting a quote that would apply.
